Students, you would like to attend GeekWeek? Our GeekTalent program lets you look behind the curtain of the cyber security industry and network with some of the best cyber security practitioners in the world. No prior experience in cyber security required – just enthusiasm to learn and skills in programming, computer networks and/or data analysis and manipulation.
GeekTalent is there to encourage and promote the next generation of cyber security experts. Work side by side with experts in the field, demonstrate your knowledge and skills, and learn! Many GeekTalent alumni have come out with COOP and job offers, thesis projects, and a vast network of contacts in the cyber industry.
Last year, 150 participants came from all over Canada and nine other countries from 60 different companies. This year, we are expecting 200 participants, and student will not only get to meet them but work with them.
GeekWeek takes place from October 18 to October 26, 2018, inclusively. GeekTalent candidates can attend the whole event, or be part-time participants. Part-time participants must commit to be present at least four (4) days throughout the event (we are open on the weekend).
Schedule extends from 8 AM to 10 PM (work as late as you want!) and includes:
Anyone with skills in programming, computer networks and/or data analysis and manipulation can apply. Note that GeekWeek is an invitation-only event, and only selected candidates will be able to attend. Our reviewing committee will select participants through an interview process, based on qualifications and enthusiasm.
